Memo: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- M. basimaculatum is a junior subjective synonym of Euproctis diplaga Hampson, 1910, J. Bombay nat. Hist. Soc. 20: 113. Medama was again proposed as a new genus by Matsumura, 1933, Insecta matsum. 7: 140, and Euproctis diplaga Hampson, 1910, cited as the type-species.
