Insects (2): 116; 1831, Illust. Br. Ent. (Haustellata) 3: 151. See: AGRIOPIS Hübner, [1825] 1816. Parsons et al. (1999) included AMALTHEA Hübner, 1825; ANISOPTERYX Stephens, 1827; and CRYOPEGA Dumont, 1925 as junior synonyms of AGRIOPIS Hübner, 1825.
