Memo: Ammetopa Hampson, 1906, was downgraded to denote a subgenus of Metopoceras Guenée, 1850 by Ronkay and Ronkay, 1995, Noctuidae Europaeae, 7 (2) : 109. Calloecia Hampson, 1908, was downgraded to denote a subgenus of Metopoceras Guenée, 1850, Ronkay and Ronkay, 1995, Noctuidae Europaeae, 7 (2) : 109. Poole (1989) included NUDIFRONS Staudinger, 1897; AMMETOPA Hampson, 1906; CALLOECIA Hampson, 1908; and TRITOMOCERAS Berio, 1980 as junior synonyms of METOPOCERAS Guenée, 1850. Poole (1989) included 17 species in the genus METOPOCERAS.
