Memo: Nye & Fletcher (1991) included METZNERIA in the family GELECHIIDAE. Hodges, in Kristensen (1999) included METZNERIA in the subfamily GELECHIINAE. Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- Zeller attributed the authorship of the type-species to M[e]tzn[er]. Metzneria was established to denote a subgenus of Gelechia Hübner, [1825].
