Memo: The new family Micropsychiidae with the type-genus Micropsychia and the type-species Psyche surientella Bruand, 1858, were designated by Gomez-Bustillo, 1979, SHILAP (Sociedad Hispano-Luso-Americana de Lepidopterologia) Revista de Lepidopterologia 6 (4) : 329-330. Micropsychia was treated in the Pyschidae by Nye and Fletcher, 1991 Generic Names Moths World, 6 : 191. Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- An unjustified emendation of Mictopsichia Hübner, [1825], but cited by Agassiz as * Micropsichia, an incorrect subsequent spelling. The "Index universalis" formed fascicle 12 of the Nomencl. zool.; Micropsychia is dated from the wrapper of the fascicle, not from its title-page which is dated 1846.
