| Memo: | Hemming (1967) stated:- The taxon represented by the nominal species Eresia cincta Edwards is currently treated subjectively on taxonomic grounds as the same as that represented by the nominal species Eresia leucodesma Felder (C.), & Felder (R.), 1861, Wien. ent. Monats. 5 :103. Cowan (1968: 7.) made the following comment for this genus:- Opinion 839 ALTERED the List [Hemming, 1967] data in ruling that; Anthanassa Scudder is to have as type-species Melitaea texana Edwards, 1863, Proc. ent.
