Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- An unjustified emendation of Anthemoisia Blanchard, 1840. Agassiz proposed this emendation as * Anthemoëssa, an incorrect original spelling which under the Code, Article 32 (c), must be corrected by the deletion of the diaeresis. Poole (1989) included ANTHEMOISIA Blanchard, 1840; ANTHEMOESSA Agassiz, 1847; ANODAPHA Moore, 1885; and TRICHOPOLYDESMA Berio, 1954 as junior synonyms of POLYDESMA Boisduval, 1833.
