Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- This genus was originally proposed in the Liparidae (now Lymantriidae), but has since been transferred to the Geometridae; its first published use in this family appears to have been by Moore, 1885, J. Asiat. Soc. Beng. (2, Nat. Sci.) 53: 237. Parsons et al. (1999) included DESMONAXA Prout, 1912; and PSILONAXA Warren, 1893 as junior synonyms of NAXA Walker, 1856 [May 10]. Parsons et al. (1999) included 8 species and 2 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus NAXA.
