| Memo: | Hemming (1967) stated:- The taxon represented by the nominal species Pyrrhopyga [sic, see below] perplexes Mabille is currently treated subjectively on taxonomic grounds as being the same as that represented by the older-established nominal species Pyrrhopyga [sic, see below] zonara Hewitson, 1866 (Trans. ent. Soc. Lond. (3) 2 : 480). Cowan (1968: 13) stated:- NOSPHISTA, lines 3, 5 (nec 2); "Pyrrhopyga" should read; Pyrrhopyge. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
