Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- This genus was erected by Dalman in a revision of the genus Castnia , at that time erroneously believed to be a genus of butterflies. He placed two species in Nyctalemon, both of which were originally described as being butterflies, namely Papilio orontes Linnaeus, 1767, and Papilio patroclus Linnaeus, 1758, both of which are moths. Fletcher (1979) stated:- A junior objective synonym of Lyssa Hübner, [1823].
