Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- A junior homonym of Nycteola Hübner, 1822, -Lepid., Noctuidae. The objective replacement name is Zebeeba Kirby, 1892. Zebeeba Kirby, 1892 has subsequently been referred to the Rivulinae (Richards, 1932) from the Acontiinae within the Noctuidae by Speidel, Fanger & Naumann, 1996, Systematic Entomology 21 (3) : 244. Nycteola is here treated in the Rivulinae with its objective replacement name Zebeeba. See: ZEBEEBA Kirby, 1892. Poole (1989) included NYCTEOLA Herrich-Schäffer, 1851 (preoccupied) as a junior synonym of ZEBEEBA Kirby, 1892.
