Memo: Nye & Fletcher (1991) included OEGOCONIA in the family SYMMOCIDAE, treated by Hodges, in Kristensen (1999) as a subfamily of AUTOSTICHIDAE. Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- Oegoconia was a Guenée manuscript name made nomenclaturally available by Stainton. Oegoconia was established in the "Gelechidae"; it was included in the Gelechiidae Lecithocerine by Le Marchand, 1947, Revue fr. Lépidopt. 11: 153; and was included in the Symmocidae by Popescu-Gorj & Draghia, 1967, Trav. Mus. Hist. nat. "Gr. Antipa" : 186. See also: * Oecogonia Hartmann, 1880; Oecogonia Reutti, 1898. Oegoconia Stainton, 1854 was treated in the Symmocidae by Nye & Fletcher, 1991, Generic Names Moths World, 6 : 208. Oegoconia was designated as the type-genus for the Oegoconiinae, a new subfamily of the Symmocidae by Leraut, 1992, Entomologica Gallica 3 (3) : 137.
