Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- The restriction by Warren, 1894, Novit. zool. 1: 404 of Ophthalmophora to the species alectaria was not a valid type-species designation, but in making a formal type-species designation, I have followed his concept of the genus. Parsons et al. (1999) included ARGYROPLUTODES Warren, 1894; CALLURAPTERYX Warren, 1894; and OPHTHALMOPHORA Guenée, 1857 a junior synonyms of OPISTHOXIA Hübner, 1825.
