Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:- A junior homonym of Orocrambus Purdie, 1884 - Lepid., Pyralidae; both Orocrambus and O. melampetrus were Meyrick manuscript names made nomenclaturally available by Purdie prior to their description and publication by Meyrick. Orocrambus melampetrus Meyrick and Orocrambus melampetrus Purdie were founded on different specimens but the two were treated as subjective synonyms by Gaskin, 1975, N.Z. Jl. Zool. 2: 325; Orocrambus Purdie, 1884, is therefore available for use as a subjective replacement name for Orocrambus Meyrick, 1885. Orocrambus and O. melampetrus were again published as new taxa by Meyrick, 1885 May, Trans. Proc. N. Z. Inst. 17: 133.
