Memo: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- A junior homonym of Orthosoma Audinet-Serville, 1832, Annls Soc. ent. Fr. 1: 155, Insecta, Coleoptera. There is no objective replacement name, but O. diffusum is currently treated as congeneric with Rhuda basifera Walker, 1857, the type-species of Rhuda Walker, 1857; the latter is therefore available for use as a subjective replacement name.
