Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:- A junior homonym of Osca Walker, 1850, Insecta Saundersiana 1 (1): 10 - Insecta, Diptera. There is no objective replacement name but O. guttulosa was placed by Hampson, 1897 Proc. zool. Soc. Lond. 1897: 623, as a junior subjective synonym of Rhodoneura pudicula Gueneé, 1858, the type-species of Rhodoneura Guenée, 1858; the latter is thus available for use as a subjective replacement name. Osca was established in the Plusidae, now Noctuidae Plusiinae; it was placed in the Pyralidae by Moore, [1885] 1884-7 Lepid. Ceylon 3: 267; and the Thyrididae by Hampson, [1893] 1892 Fauna Br. India (Moths) 1: 355.
