Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- Cramer spelt the name of the type-species both as modestia and as * Modesta on page 143; in the index, on page 175, the name was spelt as modestia. From the multiple original spelling Schüssler, 1936, in Strand, Lepid. Cat. 75: 15, was the first reviser to cite both spellings and adopted modestia as the correct original spelling. P. modestia is dated from the wrapper of part 23, not from the title-page of the volume which is dated 1782. See also: Lycabis Doumet, 1859. OXYTENIS was included within the subfamily SATURNIIDAE: OXYTENINAE by Lemaire & Minet, in Kristensen (1999).
