Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- This genus was originally proposed in the Oenochrominae, but was transferred to the Sterrhinae by Prout, 1910, in Wytsman, Genera Insect. 104: 4, 38. Parsons et al. (1999) included ANISEPHYRA Warren, 1896 as a junior synonym of PALAEASPILATES Warren, 1894. Parsons et al. (1999) included 5 species in the genus PALAEASPILATES.
