| Memo: | Paltodora was treated in the Gelechiidae in Nye and Fletcher, 1991 Generic Names Moths World, 6 : 218-219. Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- Meyrick stated "... for Cleodora Curt. (pre-occupied in Mollusca), to substitute Paltodora (type cytisella Curt.)". Sattler, 1973, Bull. Br. Mus, nat. Hist. (Ent.) 28: 232, has shown that Meyrick was establishing Paltodora as the name for a new genus, not as an objective replacement name for Cleodora Stephens, 1834. Neave, 1940, Nomencl. zool. 3: 541, treated Paltodora as an objective replacement name for Cleodora Stephens, 1834. |
