Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- A junior homonym of Paniasis Champion, 1886, Biologia cent.-am. (Zool.) Coleoptera 4 (1): 208 - Coleoptera. The objective replacement name is Neopaniasis Rapp, 1945. This genus was originally proposed in the Melameridae (now Dioptidae), but has since been transferred to the Geometridae, where it was placed by Rapp, 1945, Ent. News 56: 117. See: NEOPANIASIS Rapp, 1945. Parsons et al. (1999) included PANIASIS Druce, 1890 as a junior synonym of NEOPANIASIS Rapp, 1945.
