Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- A. orotavae is a junior subjective synonym of Eumichtis tenerifica Hampson, 1906, Cat. Lepid. Phalaenae Br. Mus. 6: 326, pl. 108, fig. 5. Paranataelia was proposed as the objective replacement name for Anataelia Draudt, 1933. Poole (1989) included PARANATAELIA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (loc. cit.). Poole (1989) included ANATAELIA Draudt, 1933 (preoccupied) as a junior synonym of PARANATAELIA Draudt, 1935. Poole (1989) included 2 species in the genus PARANATAELIA.
