Memo: Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- A junior homonym of Paratelphusa Wood-Mason, 1876, Ann. Mag. nat. Hist. (4) 17: 121, 122, which is an unjustified emendation of Parathelphusa Milne-Edwards, [1853], 1844-55, Archs Mus. Hist. nat., Paris 7: 171, - Crustacea. Wood-Mason used the spelling Paratelophusa in the title and throughout his paper on the eight species that he included in the genus. However, he correctly cited the two species that were originally included in Parathelophusa Milne-Edwards, [1853], as Parathelphusa tridentata Milne-Edwards and Parathelphusa sinensis Milne-Edwards. Thus Paratelphusa was a deliberate emendation. "Paratelophusa Zehntner, 1894" cited by Sattler, 1973, Bull. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. (Ent.) 28: 235, as an incorrect subsequent spelling was probably a usage of Wood-Mason's unjustified emendation. There is no objective replacement name.
