Fletcher (1979) stated:- This genus was originally proposed in the Noctuidae, but was transferred to the Geometridae by Prout, 1921, in Seitz, Gross-Schmett. Erde 12: 27. The date of publication of the part of Seitz containing page 27 is stated on page 21 to be 24.i.1921 in the German edition and 31.i.1921 in the English edition. Parsons et al. (1999) included EPICAMPYLA Turner, 1919; GERUSIA Warren, 1907; ONYCHOPSIS Prout, 1910; and PERATODACTYLA Turner, 1947 as junior synonyms of PAREPISPARIS Bethune-Baker, 1906. Parsons et al.
