Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- Aplocera was again proposed by Stephens, 1829 [June], Nom. Br. Insects: 44; 1829 [July], Syst. Cat. Br. Insects (2): 141; and 1831, Illust. Br. Ent. (Haustellata) 3: 295. Parsons et al. (1999) included ANAITIS Duponchel, 1829; HAPLOCERA Agassiz, 1847; and LARISSA Curtus, 1830 as junior synonyms of APLOCERA Stephens, 1827. Parsons et al. (1999) included 26 species and 19 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus APLOCERA.
