Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- P. rurigena is a junior subjective synonym of Herminia pyramusalis Walker, [1859]. See also: Neoherminia Druce, 1891. Poole (1989) included PHALAENOPHANA in the subfamily HERMINIINAE. Poole (1989) included NEOHERMINIA Druce, 1891 as a junior synonym of PHALAENOPHANA Grote, 1873. Poole (1989) included 10 species in the genus PHALAENOPHANA.
