Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- Available, but without included species until Hampson, 1910, ibidem 9: xi, 263. Poole (1989) included PHALERODES in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (loc. cit.). Poole (1989) included 2 species in the genus PHALERODES.
Type Comments: Described from both sexes. Syntypes from Natal, Malvern & Durban in (BMNH)
