Memo: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- Incorrect type-species: [Phalaena] tremula Clerk, 1759, a name not originally included in Pheosia, and not linked with one of the two originally included names when designated by Kirby, 1892, Synonymic Cat. Lepid. Heterocera 1: 607. Hübner established Pheosia for Phalaena dictaea Linnaeus, 1767, and Phalaena dictaeoides Esper, 1789; Kirby placed P. dictaea Linnaeus, 1767, as a distinct species without synonyms (but published the name as * Dictata, an incorrect subsequent spelling) and placed P. dictaeoides Esper, 1789, as a junior subjective synonym of Bombyx gnoma Fabricius, 1777.
