| Memo: | Nye (1975) stated:- Phibalocera has been incorrectly associated with Noctuidae owing to the similarity in name and date of its type-species with that of a species in the Chloephorinae, Tortrix quercana [Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775, Ankündung syst. Werkes Schmett. Wienergegend: 125. Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- Philalocera was again proposed by Stephens, 1829 [July], Syst. Cat. Br. Insects (2): 192, and again by Stephens, 1834, Illust. Br. Ent. (Haustellata) 4: 19 |
