Memo: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- P. diores is dated from the wrapper of the part, and not from the title-page of the volume, 1779. Phiditia Möschler, 1883 was treated in the Lymantriidae by Watson, Fletcher and Nye, 1980, Generic Names Moths World, 2 : 151. Phiditia has subsequently been transferred from the Lymantriidae to the Apatelodidae by Minet, 1986, Alexanor 14 (7) : 303. Phiditia has subsequently been designated as the type-genus for the new subfamily Phiditiinae (Bombycidae) by Minet, 1994, Entomologica Scandinavica 25 (1) : 78. PHIDITIA was included within the subfamily BOMBYCIDAE: PHIDITIINAE by Lemaire & Minet, in Kristensen (1999).
