Memo: Poole (1989) included PHOSPHILA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (loc. cit.). According to Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999), PHOSPHILA is misplaced in HADENINAE. Poole (1989) included HELIOSCOTA Grote, 1895 as a junior synonym of PHOSPHILA Hübner, 1818. Poole (1989) included 6 species in the genus PHOSPHILA.
