| Memo: | Nye (1975) stated:- Phycodes was originally placed in the Hyblaeidae. Phycodes Guenée, 1852 was originally proposed in the Immidae and referred to the Brachodidae by Heppner, 1979, Entomologische Berichten 39 (8) : 127. Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- P. hirudinicornis is a junior subjective synonym of Chimaera radiata Ochsenheimer, 1808, Schmett. Eur. 2: 5. Phycodes was established in the Hyblaeidae; it was placed in the Hyponomeutidae, now Yponomeutidae, by Walsingham, 1900, in Swinhoe, Cat. east. and Aust. Lepid. Heterocera Colln Oxf. Univ. Mus. 2: 568; in the Glyphipterigidae by Meyrick, 1913, in Wagne, Lepid. Cat. 13: 32; in the Choreutidae by Brock, 1971, J. nat. Hist. 5: 35; and in the Brachodidae by Heppner, 1979, Ent. Ber., Amst. 39: 127. See also Tegna Walker, 1866. Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- Phycodes was included in the "Glyphipterygidae" by Fletcher, 1929, Mem. Dep. Agric. India (Ent.) 11: 176; in the Choreutidae by Brock, 1971, J. nat. Hist. 5: 35; and in the Brachodidae by Heppner, 1979, Ent. Ber., Amst. 39: 127. PHYCODES was included within the family BRACHODIDAE by Kristensen (1999). |
