Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- Westwood's type-species designation was ignored by Hampson, 1913, Cat. Lepid Phalaenae Br. Mus. 13: 452, who cited as type-species Phalaena festucae Linnaeus, 1758, and based a subfamily Phytometrinae (now known as the Plusiinae) on this concept. N. aenea is a junior subjective synonym of Phalaena viridaria Clerck, 1759, Icones Insect. rariorum 1: pl. 9, fig. 12. Phytometra Haworth, 1809 was designated as the type-genus for the newly proposed Phytometrini by Wiltshire, 1990, Fauna of Saudi Arabia 11 : 232. Poole (1989) included PHYTOMETRA in the subfamily OPHIDERINAE, treated as CALPINAE by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Poole (1989) included ANTARCHAEA Hübner, 1821; PROTHYMIA Hübner, 1823; NANTHILDA Blanchard, 1840; PSEUDOMICRA Butler, 1892; and PYRALIDESTHES Warren, 1913 as junior synonyms of PHYTOMETRA Haworth, 1809. Poole (1989) included 61 species in the genus PHYTOMETRA ANTARCHAEA Hübner, 1821 was referred to the Phytometrini within the Noctuidae by Wiltshire, 1990, Fauna of Saudi Arabia 11 : 232.
