Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- Incorrect type-species designation: Noctua compta [Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775, a name not, originally included in Polia, and not linked with one of the, originally included names when cited by Duponchel, 1829 [March 21st], in Godart & Duponchel, Hist. nat. Lépid. Papillons Fr. 7 (2): 71. Poole (1989) included CHERA Hübner, 1821; POLIA Boisduval, 1829 (preoccupied); and APLECTA Guenée, 1838 as junior synonyms of POLIA Ochsenheimer, 1816.
