| Memo: | Hemming (1967) stated:- The taxon represented by the nominal species Polygonus lividus Hübner is currently treated subjectively on taxonomic grounds as being the same as that represented by the older-established nominal species Papilio leo Gmelin, [1790] (in Linnaeus, Syst. Nat. (ed. 13) 1 (5) : 2363). Cowan (1970: 54) stated:- "Polygenus to read - Polygonus", [type-species]. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
