Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:- Polyterpnes was established in the Crambidae, now Pyralidae Crambinae; it was transferred tentatively to the Pyralidae Pyraustinae by Bleszynski, 1966 Acta zool cracov. 11: 492. Examination by our colleague, Mr M. Shaffer, of specimens recently presented by Dr I. F. B. Common, Canberra, has shown Polyterpnes to belong to the Pyralidae Odontiinae and the genus is here transferred to that subfamily.
