Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- Pradiota when originally proposed contained a second species, but this was doubtfully included and under the Code, Article 68 (c), is not eligible for designation as type-species. Fletcher (1979) stated:- This genus was originally proposed in the Geometridae, but has since been transferred to the Noctuidae, where it was placed by Hampson, 1894, Fauna Br. India (Moths) 2: 543. Poole (1989) included NEVIASCA Walker, 1859; PRADIOTA Walker, 1866; EPISPARINA Berio, 1964; and EPISPARONIA Berio, 1964 as junior synonyms of EPISPARIS Walker, 1857.
