Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- The taxon represented by the nominal species Nymphalis demodice Godart is currently treated subjectively on taxonomic grounds as being the same as that represented by the older-established nominal species Potamis laertes Hübner, [1821], Samml. exot. Schmett. 1 : pl. [70]). Prepona Boisduval, 1836 was designated as the type-genus for the subtribe Preponina, new tribe Preponini and subfamily Preponinae (Nymphalidae) [Prepona is now placed in the Nymphalidae, Charaxinae] by Rydon, 1971, Entomologist's Record and Journal of Variation 83 : 314, 318, 310 [Preponinae is not adopted here]. PREPONA was included within the subfamily NYMPHALIDAE: CHARAXINAE by Ackery et al., in Kristensen (1999). The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
