(1999) included ARGYRIS Guenée, 1858; CALOPTERA Frivaldszky, 1845; and PROBLEPSIODES Warren, 1899 as junior synonyms of PROBLEPSIS Lederer, 1853. Parsons et al. (1999) included 49 species and 30 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus PROBLEPSIS.
