Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- The taxon represented by the nominal species Papilio thia Hübner is currently treated subjectively as representing the same taxon - at the species-level but not at the subspecies-level - as that represented by the nominal species Papilio apollinus Herbst, 1798 (in Jablonsky, Natursyst. Ins., Schmett. 9 : 156, pl. 250, figs 5-8). Archon Hübner, 1822, was referred to the Zerynthiinae from the Parnassinae within the Papilionidae by Niculescu, 1981, Bulletin de la Societe Entomologique de Mulhouse 1981 : 60. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
