Memo: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- A junior objective synonym of Euchila Billberg, 1820. Stephens incorrectly attributed Ptilodontis to Hübner and palpina to Linnaeus in 1828, ibidem 2: 28, and again in 1829 [June], Nom. Br. Insects: 39. In 1829 [July], Syst. Cat. Br. Insects (2): 43, Stephens proposed Ptilodontis as his own new genus.
