| Memo: | Fletcher (1979) stated:- Prout, 1932, in Seitz, Gross-Schmett. Erde 8: 10, stated that Warren's original type-species designation was based on misidentified material, which proved subsequently to be Pycnoneura rectilineata Warren, 1906. Under Article 70(a) of the Code, the case of a misidentified type-species should be referred to the commission. The date of publication of the part of Seitz containing page 10 is stated on page 9 to be 9.vi.1932 in the German edition and 17.vi.1932 in the English edition. According to Scoble (1999) the subfamily position of Pycnoneura is uncertain. It may belong in the Desmobathrinae. Parsons et al. (1999) included 10 species and 8 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus PYCNONEURA. |
