Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- M. fulvescens was proposed by Prout as the objective replacement name for Phalaena fulvata Drury, 1782, Illust. nat. Hist. exot. Insects 3: 28 and Index [1], pl.21, fig.4, a junior primary homonym of Phalaena fulvata Forster, 1771, Novae Species Insect. centuria: 76 - Lepid. Geometridae. Parsons et al. (1999) included HYPHENOPHORA Warren, 1894; OBRUSSA Saalmüller, 1891; RHAMIDAVA Walker, 1869; TIMANA Walker, 1869; and TRAINA Walker, 1904 as junior synonyms of MELINOESSA Herrich-Schäffer, 1855.
