| Memo: | Hemming (1967) stated:- The nominal species Rhipheus dasycephalus Swainson (a replacement for the nominal species Papilio rhipheus Drury, [1773], Ill. nat. Hist. 2 : index et 40) is based upon the figure of a moth with the antennae of a butterflys Swainson himself believed that the figure represented a true species belonging - as he explained in a note to plate 125 - to the family Papilionidae. Fletcher (1979) stated:- Swainson's illustration of Rhipheus dasycephalus on plate 131 was stated in the accompanying text to be a copy of Drury's figure of Papilio rhipheus.
