Memo: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- Rolepa was established in the Arcttiidae; it was placed in the Lasiocampidae by Kirby, 1892, Synonymic Cat. Lepid. Heterocera 1: 851; and was placed in the Lymantriidae by Schaus, 1927, in Seitz, Gross-Schmett. Erde 6: 557. See also: Olenoptera Herrich-Schäffer, [1856], and Athrula Walker, 1862. Rolepa Walker, 1855 was treated in the Lymantriidae by Watson, Fletcher and Nye, 1980, Generic Names Moths World, 2 : 171. Rolepa Walker, 1855 has subsequently been transferred from the Lymantriidae to the Apatelodidae by Minet, 1986, Alexanor 14 (7) : 303. ROLEPA was included within the subfamily BOMBYCIDAE: PHIDITIINAE by Lemaire & Minet, in Kristensen (1999).
