Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- A junior homonym of Saccophora Brandt, 1837, Bull. Sci. Acad. imp. Sci. St-Pétersb. 1 (24): 187, - Coelenterata. There is no objective replacement name, but Saccophora melsheimeri is a senior subjective synonym of Perophora melsheimerii Harris, 1841 [December 31], the type-species of Ptochopsyche Grote, 1896; the latter is thus available for use as a subjective replacement name. Saccophora Harris, 1841, and its type-species were dated 1841 [July] by Franclemont, 1973, in Dominick et al., Moths Am. N. of Mexico 20 (1): 11, 12; the wrapper of the part of the Entomologist 1 in which the names were published is, however, dated May 1841 and there is no available evidence to show that it did not appear during that month. The type-locality of S. melsheimeri was restricted by Franclemont, 1973, ibidem 20 (1): 12.
