Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- Sarmalia was established in the Saturniidae; it was placed in the Lasiocampidae by Kirby, 1892 [July 9], Synonymic Cat. Lepid. Heterocera 1: 799; and in the Eupterotidae by Swinhoe, 1892 [November 4], Cat. east. and Aust. Lepid. Heterocera Colln Oxf. Univ. Mus. 1: 275. SARMALIA was included within the subfamily EUPTEROTIDAE: EUPTEROTINAE by Lemaire & Minet, in Kristensen (1999).
