Memo: Sataspes Moore, 1857 was referred to the Sphinginae from the Macroglossinae within the Sphingidae by Riotte, 1981, Pacific Insects 23 (1-2) : 207. Sataspes was treated in the Sphingidae, Macroglossinae in Fletcher and Nye 1982, 4 : 146. Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- A lectotype was designated by Swinhoe, 1892, Cat. east. and Aust. Lepid. Heterocera Colln Oxf. Univ. Mus. 1: 1. Kitching & Cadiou (2000) list MYODEZIA Boisduval, 1875 as a junior synonym of SATASPES Moore, 1858.
