Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- The name Argus Scopoli, 1777, is invalid as a junior homonym of the older-published name Argus Bohadsch, 1761. The rather peculiar history of the last-mentioned name has been explained in the discussion given above under the name Argus Scopoli, 1763. The nominal species which is the type-species of Argus Scopoli, 1777, later became the type-species of the nominal genus Satyrodes Scudder, 1875. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
