Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- A junior homonym of Scaptia Walker, 1850, Insecta Saundersiana 1: 8 - Diptera. There is no objective replacement name, but C. antholia is congeneric with Micropus longalis Hübner, 1818, the type-species of Smicropus Warren, 1895. The latter is thus available as a subjective replacement name. C. antholia is a junior subjective synonym of C. intercepta Walker, 1854, ibidem 2: 372. Incorrect type-species: Chrysauge intercepta Walker, 1854, a name not originally included in Scaptia, and not linked with one of the originally included names when designated by Warren, 1895, Novit. zool. 2: 85. This genus was originally proposed in the Lithosiidae (now Arctiidae) as a subgenus of Chrysauge Hübner, [1823], but has since been transferred to the Geometridae; its first published use in this family appears to have been by Warren, 1894, Novit. zool. 1: 85. See: SMICROPUS Warren, 1895. Parsons et al. (1999) included MICROPINUS Kirby, 1912; MICROPUS Hübner, 1818; and SCAPTIA Walker, 1854 as junior synonyms of SMICROPUS Warren, 1895.
