Poole (1989) included SCOTOPHILA Hübner, 1821; PYROPHILA Stephens, 1929; PHILOPYRA Guenée, 1852; and NEOCOMIA Rougemont, 1902 as junior synonyms of AMPHIPYRA Ochsenheimer, 1816.
